The AUAN Project / 2012-2013

“The Charity Association Alexandra Nanu” – AUAN, completed successfully its first project, the one for the 2012-2013 school year. 28 beneficiaries were included within the project:

 – 17 beneficiaries with individual contract based on a 10 month period (September 2012- June 2013);

 –   3 beneficiaries with individual contract based on a 6 months period (January 2013 – June 2013);

 –  4 beneficiaries – timely interventions (orthodontic braces, tuition fees, fees for participating in festivals);

– 26 beneficiaries have received Easter and/or Christmas gifts .

All purchases made from this money have been made under the strict supervision of the AUAN case responsible persons. 

Besides, the AUAN beneficiaries have also enjoyed the attention of the AUAN members and sympathizers who understood their multiple needs and came up with numerous donations: 

          - PCs, school bags, tuition fees, English tutoring classes;

          - Microwave ovens, sewing machine, washing machine;

          - Meal tickets, folding bed, mattress from the Netherlands;

          - Roller blades, Christmas tree + ornaments + globes, skis, ski boots;

          - A lot of clothing : Romania, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands

          - Cameras, mobile phones, music device. 

It was the first large-scale project of AUAN, which took place during the association’s first year of activity, a period of time in which all AUAN members have voluntarily and continuously offered their services in order to achieve today’s performance. We all had a lot to learn, we drew very important conclusions based on which we can structure our activity much better. 

We’ve always wished for our activity to be carried out in harmony, with mutual involvement and support, both among the AUAN members as well as between AUAN and the beneficiaries. In other words, like in a family. This is why we wanted to know the honest opinion of the beneficiaries about their relationship with AUAN and about what they felt when they received our help, in order to continuously improve the activity we perform and the implication of our beneficiaries in our actions.

Beneficiary 4

I am very grateful for being selected to take part in the project of the charity, since this covers some of the necessities that I couldn’t have afforded. In my opinion, AUAN does a very good job in helping children to realize something in their lives during the moments when their families cannot afford to offer them support. I think that the Charitable Association Alexandra Nanu must continue in helping children since there still are a lot of children who can benefit of its help, no matter how significant it is. Each child is happy when there is someone who looks after him/her wishing to offer a helping hand.

From my point of view, the collaboration with AUAN was unexpected. It was a great pleasure to communicate with the members of the association since they are wonderful people and are gifted with a special character. I can only speak nice about the association as well as about the people engaged in its activities. This association has brought the smile back on our faces since it’s been always offering support and it has never left us out of sight. I know that I am still a child and I am probably not aware of the sacrifice made by the people who are behind this great project, but I can send them my thanks for their interest, the impressive behavior and the offered support. We are looking forward to a strong collaboration based on sincerity and trust. Good luck with your future activities!

There is a strong bond between me and AUAN. I am so grateful for their support, I am glad that they are trustworthy people. As far as I am concerned, our friendship is and, hopefully, will be very strong. I am happy that the association is helping other people, and among them, we are also being helped…I don’t have any unfavorable thoughts about the charitable association, I only want to wish them good luck. 

Beneficiary 7

I have received a lot of support from AUAN. Thanks to AUAN I managed to take English classes which helped me enroll in an advanced class. They helped me very much financially. I have met a lot of wonderful people. I went to two great holiday camps this summer. I have received a lot of writing materials and clothing. They gave me Christmas and Easter gifts. I want to thank everyone, especially Cristina Tolomeiu for taking care of me and for having offered such great weekends. Thank you very much for your support. 

Beneficiary 8

The support received from The Charitable Association Alexandra Nanu was of real help for both my family and me. Due to our very difficult financial situation, I was the most affected by this issue since I am in college and my parents were not able to provide the minimum requirements needed for school. During the few meetings that I had with the members of the association, not being able to get to know them well enough, I can only say that they are very warm people and are driven to ensure that the association is taking the right path. One thing that would make my happy, is for me to be able to give something back to them, as little as it might be, just to thank them for everything I was offered. Another thing that I would very much enjoy, is the organization of more gatherings both with the beneficiaries as well as with the members, in order to get to know each other better, and maybe in the future, we, the beneficiaries might continue the mission of the association. I want to offer my most sincere thank you, yours sincerely …. 

Beneficiary 9

My name is……and I am collaborating with AUAN. I am very happy that I was able to receive goods that my parents couldn’t have afforded buying for me. I was very pleased with the organization of the Children’s Day on the 1^st of July, since I had a very, very good time and I want to thank you for your help and your support. You are of great help to me. Thank you! 

Beneficiary 11 and beneficiary 12 (brothers)

First of all, we want to thank you for all the help we received from The Charitable Association Alexandra Nanu. Both last year and this year, during the Holiday season, we had a big feast and for Christmas we had the best tree ever. Had it not been for your help, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to see such beautiful places as the ones at Cheile Turzii, the Botanical Garden in Cluj or the Alba Iulia Fortress. The camp at Cartisoara was very beautiful and a very interesting experience. We are very pleased with the support received from you and we want to thank you from our hearts!

Dear AUAN,

I enjoyed your gifts very much, the shows in which I took part and sang and the fact that you have always appreciated my performances. I want to thank you for all your support and I wish that you also appreciate my future results. I will gladly participate in all occasions every time you invite me to. You are one of my best friends and you will always stay this way. 

Beneficiary 10 

My dear ones, 

I had a lot of fun in all the activities I took part together with Mr. Mihai and Ms. Sandrina. I enjoyed the 1^st of June, in the “Village Museum”, very much and I hope I will participate again in such events. I want to thank you with all my heart and I hope I won’t disappoint you in the future. We want to bring our warmest thank you to all our supporters, sympathizers, donors, sponsors, AUAN partners, to all those who submitted their 230 and 200 declaration forms for AUAN. Without you, we wouldn’t have been able to have so many achievements right from the first year of our existence.

 Below you can find the projects for the school year 2012-2013, the way it was laid out at that time. 

The project for the school year 2012 – 2013 covers 20 beneficiaries . This was possible thanks to:

• the trust shown towards AUAN on behalf of two well- known companies activating in Sibiu: S.C.Wenglor Electronic S.R.L.,  S.C.Euroconf S.A.
• the donors from Romania and beyond, known or unknown, whom AUAN succeeded to transmit a good image paved with good intentions;
• the approximately 350 persons who chose to give 2% of the income taxes for 2011 to AUAN, according to the Romanian legislation;
• last but not least, the members of AUAN, who showed great implication and succeeded to give AUAN a solid ground and a good image in the community.

We thank all of them and hope that this is only the beginning.

The sums for each beneficiary differ:

• for the grades I – IV : 150 RON / month => 1500 RON / school year;
• for the grades V – VIII : 175 RON / month => 1750 RON / school year;
• for the grades IX – XII : 200 RON / month => 2000 RON / school year;

These sums of money are to be spent strictly for the needs of the beneficiaries. The case-responsible is obliged to analyse the needs of the beneficiary, to agree upon the beneficiary ‘s shopping list and to gather the bills attesting the acquisition of the goods established in advance. The bills must be given to AUAN ‘s accountant ( according to the contract between AUAN and the beneficiary ).

The entire activity is based on the contract between AUAN and the beneficiary where there are clearly stipulated: the object of the contract, the time-frame and the rights and obligations of the two sides.

For Christmas and Easter each child and youngster to whom AUAN had made a social report – so far there are 25 – will get gifts consisting in provisions and sweets in value of 150 ron/person.

During 2012 summer , AUAN has dealt with some focused interventions for the beneficiaries and their families.

The beneficiaries’ needs identified during the social reports were:

• provisions, clothes, footwear;
• books, notebooks, requisites, dictionaries;
• dental care, dental treatments;
• ophthalmological care, eye glasses;
• transport subscriptions to school and from school;
• camps and trips.

The AUAN project for the school year 2012 – 2013 has already started in September and is on-going.
